Hradčany tour
Hradčany
The castle district Hradčany was formed when Old Town (1232-1234) and Lesser Town had already existed. Unlike the Lesser Town the settlement on hradcansky hill however, developed without any firm order. Thus Prague became a three town set and waited for the forth and the last one, the New Town. After the devastating fire in 1541, splendid palaces mostly of renaissance a baroque style were constructed for Czech a foreign aristocracy. Currently they serve as an official residency of various Czech ministries, embassies, and public institutions such as National Gallery. The life in here flows far more peacefully than in other Prague’s quarters.
